His mail-order-bride is not at all what he expected…
The Wyoming Ranch Series is a collection of three books. The first two are stories of couples that come together in Wyoming in the 1890s. In the third book unusual circumstances bring these two couples together, and they become friends.
Mail Order Surprise
In this first book, Austin Barrington is nervous, but hopeful, when his mail order bride, Georgia Langley, steps off the train. From the few letters they’ve exchanged, it seems they have similar ideals and goals. She is an educated young lady from Boston, though, which is much different from living on a ranch in Wyoming. He hopes she will be able to adjust, and in time he plans to teach her to ride a horse and shoot a gun. For now, though, he will keep a close eye on her to keep her safe.
It soon becomes clear that what he expected from his new bride and what he has received are two very different things. At the same time, she learns that husbands in Wyoming in the 1890s often correct their wives’ dangerous behavior with a trip over their knee. After a rough start to their marriage, they realize they are perfect for each other. When a man is shot on their ranch, they nurse him back to health and set about helping Sheriff Grant Montgomery track down the culprit. Follow their story in this action-packed adventure, as they find themselves in the center of a mysterious and dangerous situation.
Ranch Life is Great
In this second story, Elsie Wintock was living in the small town of Sherman, Wyoming, with her parents and her Aunt Gertrude. She was engaged to a wonderful cowboy, Cade Collins, who was everything she thought she wanted: big, strong, handsome, and unbelievably patient. Unfortunately, he was also over-protective. When her parents were tragically killed, she became the sole heir of her family’s mercantile.
Cade needs to protect her, so he suggests they move their wedding date up. She agreed, and he moved her and her aunt onto his ranch. Feisty, independent Elsie has never been on a ranch before and doesn’t know how dangerous it can be. Cade is determined to keep her safe, no matter what it takes, while they set about helping Sheriff Daniel Fitch find the person or persons who killed her parents, and why.
Ranch Life Surprise
Now, in Ranch Life Surprise, Cade and Elsie are summoned to Laramie by a lawyer. They’re told they have inherited some horses, which have already been shipped to Laramie. The lawyer finds a local rancher, Austin Barrington, who is willing to keep the horses for them until they can claim them. Cade and Elsie go to Austin and Georgia’s ranch, where the four of them develop an instant friendship.
The men, who respect each other and the equestrian work they do, begin trading horses, which involves the couples making the occasional four-hour trip between their ranches. When bad things start happening during the trips, and later on both ranches, Sheriffs Montgomery and Fitch again get involved. The men still have their hands full with their headstrong ladies, but they all work together, along with friends of the two couples who meet and fall in love. The new couple strengthens the bond between the families even more.
