The plot of the story focuses mainly on two people who are becoming serious about each other and in the process; Heath is very concerned about safety issues that Sarah ignores. Talking doesn’t seem to make a difference, and he spanks her. There are four main people in the story, and their conversations are open and honest about domestic discipline. There are no sex scenes, only implied.
Ophelia has lived in a sheltered way emotionally since the death of her parents, she feels their deaths were her fault. So she has developed the habit of shutting down her emotions, instead of living. So, Tobias (her knight), ends up trying to break down her emotional walls. However, after a rough night she throws him out, which destroys him. Can Ophelia break down the walls around her heart and allow the man in? Or will she live in solitude and be a single mom, denying the feelings she has?
This is a great story about submission and acceptance and allowing yourself to feel. Tobias and Ophelia have amazing chemistry from the moment they meet. Their struggle is heartbreaking, they seem to almost throw away the best thing that ever happened to either of them. Can they see past the pain?
Really enjoyed the story, definitely recommend this series.
Callie is a woman brave enough to do what needs to be done to survive. She is smart and practical and has a pretty good idea about what she will need to do to get on with her life. She also doesn’t want to cause Lawrence any harm because she is bright enough to realize at some point he will decide he doesn’t want to keep himself closed off.
Lawrence is impulsive at first in asking for Callie’s hand but you also seem him thinking things through. I also love how he puts Callie’s feelings first.
There is some spanking and if but most of it is in fun and you can understand the reasons behind the real punishment. I think this couple has lots of love and happiness in their future.
