Author Interview

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

When I was a child about thirteen years old, at least until I was dissuaded by my English teacher. Then I put that away that dream for years, until the first story I had to tell could no longer be stuffed down. Pursuing a writing career was sparked, again. And I haven’t looked back.

What is your writing process like?

With some writing projects, I duplicate the outline process that James Patterson talks about in his master class. With other writing projects, like the Dark Side of Kingsley, a character comes alive for me and their story tells itself.

Yes! A mix of epic fantasy and binary beats for creative writing

What was the hardest part about writing The dark side of Kingsley?

Researching the exotic locations and food and wine pairings that are described in the novel

How much research do you typically do on a novel?

Depends, but I don’t like to like anything to not be authentic and as real as possible. I research as much as it takes.

Character Interview

Q. Kingsley – what was your main motivation in leaving England and pursuing business in America?

A. I’d always been envious of the ‘American Dream’ and wanted to pursue my own version of that. Also, I needed to be independent of the status I have in England. Creating myself the way I wished, not by the way that was expected of me

Q. Kingsley, what was the real trigger that had you believe that Katarina Wallington could be your one and only?

A. Her fearless spirit, and reckless behaviour called to me, but it was her response to my touch, and honestly, my response to hers that set my world on fire. When we touched it was like I finally knew what it all those damn love songs had been about.

Note from the Author…

I sat down to write a story about a dark club owner with a hint of mafia, love story, involving old money and new money. Kingsley Deveraux came to life. I love his character. He is almost a modern-day Mr. Darcy. He needed a challenge, and someone who didn’t need him per say, but someone who could see the value of his expertise. That is how Katarina Wallington was born.
