Can an All-American girl find love with a proud Scottish Earl?
Jenny Hanson was a bridesmaid in her best friend Mandy’s wedding in Scotland. It’s been a few years now, and she goes back to spend two weeks with Mandy, now Lady Amanda, and her husband Quinn, a viscount.
She and Mandy are invited to a weekend house party on another estate, and while there Jenny has a chance meeting with Reade Ramsay, known to most as Lord Cranford, a somewhat mysterious young earl who is heir to Catherwood, a huge and extremely wealthy estate. The earl is fascinated by the beautiful young Texan who speaks her mind and is completely unimpressed by his many titles and future inheritance. He sets out to woo her, having in mind only a few enjoyable evenings together, but when he follows her back to Houston, he realizes he wants to share his life with this lively woman.
Reade convinces Jenny to come back to Scotland with him, but all is not well. His father, the aging Marquess of Catherwood, is cruel, capricious, and increasingly senile, but his word is still law, and he enjoys making life difficult for his son. Reade must find a way to keep his father happy while protecting Jenny from the sordid ugliness that has infested Catherwood.
This is book one in the Catherwood Series and can be enjoyed as a standalone.
