Meet the members of Club Risqué and follow their D/s exploits as love worms its way into even the kinkiest hearts.

It was supposed to be fun. They are both experienced in the club singles’ lifestyle, but from the moment Connor and Laurel meet, sparks fly, heat spikes, and everything suddenly gets complicated.

Laurel wants something long term with Connor and is determined to get it, even if it means having to push him out of his comfort zone. Little does she realize just how close she is to pushing him over the edge.

When Connor pushes back, everything becomes twisted and distorted until they both end up facing their own dark consequences. Can they find their way back, or will the secrets of Connor’s past destroy them both?

Publisher’s Note: Book four of the Club Risqué series is a steamy, dark, sensual story which includes themes of power exchange.

In the end it was petulance born of frustration that won out. Probably unwisely, since Connor’s answer was to take her little outburst out on her ass.

“But Connor, that’s not fair!” she whined. She almost cringed at her own words, aware that she sounded peevish and needy. But damn it all, she was!  It wasn’t enough to stop her though, even though she should have known better. “You can’t just expect me to stay like this!”

Connor’s expression went from vaguely amused to flinty and Laurel knew that was never going to bode well for her.

“I can, and I do, Fluff,” Connor proclaimed in no uncertain terms. “Or are you telling me that you are not capable of following a Dom’s specific demands and behaving like a good girl?”

She wanted to be a good girl. She wanted to be his good girl, Laurel thought a little wildly. But she was just so highly strung.

“I can so be a good girl,” Laurel declared querulously. “You’re just being mean!”

“And you’re just being a brat,” Connor retorted. “But don’t worry, I know just how to deal with your brattiness and how to provide you with a compelling reminder at exactly the same time.”

Laurels eyes widened, and she took and instinctive step backwards at the same time as her hands moved, entirely of their own volition, to make a vain attempt at covering her bare backside.

“Oh no pet,” Connor promised darkly. “That really isn’t going to help.”

In a flash of movement that shouldn’t have been possible for such a big man, Connor had managed to seat himself on the bed, grasp Laurel securely around the waist and settle her across his knee.

“Connor, no!” Laurel squealed, vainly attempting to reach back and save herself.

“Too late for that, pet,” he growled. “You should have thought about the consequences before you decided it would be a good idea to get all mouthy with me.”

He didn’t hang around. Before Laurel could utter one more protest, his huge hand had delivered the first sharp spank to her upturned behind.

A Note from the Author

The basis of Connor and Laurel’s story was formed during the writing of Fool’s Desire, the first book in the Club Risqué series, but a lot of their personal dilemma’s never showed themselves until I got down to the nitty gritty of writing the book. Believe me, the dark secrets that were buried in Connor’s past were just as much a surprise to me, but once his story took shape, his behavior made perfect sense. In telling Connor’s story, I also wanted to highlight an issue which is associated as far less of a male gender problem, but the reality is that when it happens to boys, it’s something that tends to be kept even more of a secret and never reported because it viewed in a very different way. Just because men are expected to be tough and stoic doesn’t mean these traumas have less impact, they’re just less likely to be dealt with effectively.

Author Bio

Poppy Flynn was born in Buckinghamshire, UK and moved to Wales at eight years old with parents who wanted to live the ‘self-sufficiency’ lifestyle.

Today she still lives in rural Wales and is married with six children.

Poppy’s love of reading and writing stemmed from her parent’s encouragement and the fact that they didn’t have a television in the house.

“When you’re surrounded by fields, cows and sheep, no neighbours, no TV and the closest tiny village is four miles away, there’s a certain limit to your options, but with books your adventures and your horizons are endless.”
